5/11/2008 - Postcard Promotion in Your Mailbox

273 postcards announcing the show to all previous vendors and attendees since 2004 got mailed just before the rate increase.  Did you get yours?

Oh, and we're down to only 9 tables.  (Maybe 7, considering the email today.)  Did we mention they're still amazingly cheap!  :)

Get one now and fill them with goodies come show time.  They're still amazingly cheap!  :)

4/10/2008 - Now Taking Table Reservations!

We have confirmed the table layout with the hall and are now accepting table reservations!  Yea!

Pre-registration orders for tables are being filled right now.  Looks like we have about a third of the show floor filled.  :)

2/29/2008 - Email Issues Resolved

Apparently, unknown to us, our email server went bad about a month ago.  (Which explains why we haven't been getting or sending many emails.)  This has been fixed.  If you still can't reach us by email, call 440-339-8538!

1/13/2008 - CCAG 2007 Pictures have been Posted

Pictures from CCAG 2007 have been posted here.

1/12/2008 - Message Board is Down!

We're experiencing technical difficulties with the message board.  We hope to have it back up next weekend.

1/3/2008 - Another Year and Show to Look Forward To

CCAG 2008 is on, what more can be said except cruise the website and see what's new!

5/25/2007 - Traditional Last Update Before the Show

The website is getting hits like crazy.  The show's program is done.  We were announced in the Cleveland Free Times.  The vendor tables are paid for.  The Chinese Auction items are packed up.  Last minute tweaks to the website made.  Nothing more to say except...

SEE YOU AT THE SHOW!

   'nuff said...  ;)

5/20/2007 - No Tables Left!

We are delighted to announce that we are out of tables!

5/16/2007 - Basically, Two Pairs of Two Tables Left!

We are delighted to announce that we have only two pairs of tables left!  You'd best speak up now or...

5/8/2007 - Matt Gauslin's Cola Invaders Tourney

Matt is hosting another tournament!  This year, get the highest score in three minutes on the Atari 2600 game "Cola Invaders (Coke Wins)" and win a cool prize.

5/5/2007 - Postcard Reminders Sent, Tables Nearly Gone

183 postcards reminding attendees of CCAG 2004, 2005, and 2006 that we have a show this year have been mailed.

We have 12 tables left.  The "Arcade Standup Area" has now been opened up for general sales.

03/18/2007 - Chinese Auction Prizes Arriving!

We are happy to announce that wonderful Chinese Auction prizes are arriving, generously donated by vendors and supporters of CCAG, including a Pirates of the

Caribbean pinball game.  (...it's very cool...)

CCAG is only supported by vendor table fees, the revenue from the Chinese Auction, and monetary donations from supporters like you.  If we can't make ends meet, there won't be a show next year...  SO...  If you can rent a table, donate a prize, or give a little bit of green at the door, please do!  And, thank you!  :)

03/2/2007 - Tables Half Gone!

We have passed the halfway mark for the tables!  We said they'd go fast and they are!  And, we couldn't be more pleased!  :)

02/20/2007 - Website Update Complete

The website has been updated with all the latest show information for attendees and vendors for 2007.  Vendor registrations are now being cheerfully accepted.  :)

The CCAG 2006 Review has also been updated with about 160 pictures and a video.

02/17/2007 - Website Being Updated

The website is being updated 2/20/2007 with the latest information.

02/14/2007 - Location Changed, Time Changed, Vendors Charged

We have changed the location of this year's show to American Legion Hall--Clifton Post, 22001 Brookpark Rd, Fairview Park, OH.  Here is the link to the map.

We have changed the times.  The new show will run in the afternoon from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM.  Vendor setup is from noon until 2:00 PM.  (You must be a vendor or CCAG Committee member in order to gain access to the show floor during that time.)  The raffle starts at 5:00 PM.  The vendor teardown is from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Very sadly, the cost of just renting the hall to hold the show has increased from $175 to $500, that's a 285% increase.  Combined with other costs, it means that means that the show cannot be run on donations alone.  Vendors will be charged for tables.  If we rent every single table, we will almost cover the cost of renting the space.  The shortfall will be made up by the $175 we have set aside to rent the hall, donations from attendees, and raffle ticket sales.

We have two show rooms.  A main room that will be "flea market" style and a side room where vendors with stand-up displays and cabinets will go.  (This is because we need to keep a minimum distance between the rows in the "flea market" area.  We have space for 47 eight foot tables and 7 six foot tables.  The price of an 8 foot table is $10.00  The price of a 6 foot table is $7.50.  Vendors will have to choose which tables they want from a floor plan layout that we will be releasing very soon.

02/06/2007 - We're Changing Locations, Again...

Due to increasing costs by a factor of nearly 3 and the date we wanted being now unavailable, we need to switch locations.

We are negotiating a contract with another location for the same date.  If we can't get the May date, we are looking into and October date.

The cost of this show will completely deplete our coffer, and then some. We estimate that the costs of holding this show will continue to rise.  Therefore, unfortunately, we have to charge for the tables and will be asking for donations from attendees.

08/18/2006 - Site Updates, More on the Way

We've switched hosting companies and changed the message board vendor.

We'll be updating the site for the 2007 show even more, soon!  Maybe, we'll even post some pictures of the 2006 show!  :)

05/26/2006 - Traditional Last Update the Day Before the Show

In the last week, we added even MORE vendors.  We are up to a total of 21!  Our biggest show EVER!

And, once again, the hit meter is going way, way up.

We'll see you at the show!  :)

05/16/2006 - Final Call For Pre-Registered Vendors

If you're a vendor and you want to make it into our convention flyer, you need to register by midnight E.S.T. on 5/17/2006!  Thanks!  :)

05/15/2006 - Pictures of CCAG 2005 Posted

Pictures of CCAG 2005 courtesy of DigitalDinos and Video Game Connection.  Many, many thanks, guys!  :)  Shame on us for not getting them up sooner.

If you have pictures please share them with everyone!  Email them to us so that we may post them for all to see.

05/11/2006 - Nationwide Advertising!

Once again, our thanks to Game Informer Magazine for printing our show in their May calendar!  (May 2006, Page 42.)

05/10/2006 - Sorry, We Have No More Free Tables!!

Sadly, we have no more free tables for vendors.

However, we do have space for vendors, if you want to bring your own tables.  :)  Just send us the required vendor information and the number and dimensions of the tables and we will do our best to accommodate you so long as we have room.  (Yes, your items must be on a table.)

...fortunately, we still have plenty of chairs.  :)

05/09/2006 - Our Email Has Been Down

Heck of a time for it, but...  Our email has been down for a few days.  It's back up now!  :)

04/30/2006 - Attention Vendors, Vendor-Wanna-Bes, and Vendor's With Exceptionally Aggressive SPAM Filters

We have almost all of our 50 free vendor tables spoken for.  If you want to be a vendor and you haven't emailed us yet, you need to right away.  If your plans have changed and you are not showing up, we need to know now!

Remember, we will not be taking email vendor registrations after May 17, 2006.

Because of incredible demand, we have had to limit the free tables to a maximum of 3 per vendor.  If we have extra tables, and that's a BIG if, they will be distributed as the CCAG Committee sees fit at the show.

Vendor confirmation emails have gone out and some have been bounced back as SPAM.  If you did not receive one and you don't see your name on this webpage, you have not been registered!  Repeat!  You have not been registered!!  To correct this situation, you need to address your firewall, SPAM-filter, email blocker issues right away and email us today.  We will not be attempting to email you anymore!

03/13/2006 - Gearin' Up for the Show

Today is the day we gearing up for the next show in earnest.

Vendors are starting to sign up.

Every Sunday from now until the show, the site will be update with the latest.

ATTENTION VENDORS!!  Please note that we only have 40 tables available this year.  Register ASAP to reserve yours or you'll have to bring your own.  (When the 40 free ones are gone, you'll have to bring your own, anyway.)

The information on the 2005 has been moved to the archive.  Again, thank you all for making CCAG 2005 a great show!  :)

03/05/2006 - Our one and Only Show for 2006, May 27, 2006

Due to scheduling issues, CCAG will remain at one show per year.  Sorry, folks...

12/05/2005 - Post 2005 Show

We are happy to report the completion of our fifth successful show.  We had 90 visitors, 16 vendors, and forty 8 foot tables crammed with classic, collectable computer and gaming gear.  A post show review and pictures will be posted soon.  Plans are already underway for our next two shows in 2006.  CCAG Spring 2006 will be held on May 27, 2006.  We do not expect to have a precise date for CCAG Fall 2006 until after June; however, we are planning for late October.

Again, a huge, huge thank you to attendees, vendors, door prize donors, and the National Guard Armory in Lorain, OH for making this all possible.  We'll see you again soon!  :)

11/27/2005 - Final Update to Website Before Show

At one week before the show, we are happy to report that we have 13 confirmed vendors reserving thirty one 8' tables!  That's a new record for us!  :)

We've also sent a reminder card to everyone who attended CCAG 2004, 122 cards in all.

Our website is also getting pounded with hits, so thank all of you for posting the link to our site on your sites.  We're on track to reach 1600 hits this month, a nearly doubling of what we normally get.

Some people have asked if the kitchen will be open for use during the show. The answer - sadly - is, "No." There are fast food places just a few blocks away and you may bring your own in for your own consumption.

If you are making plans for Spring or Fall CCAG 2006, we have moved the month for Spring to May, 2006 to coordinate better with the Armory's schedule. Fall is still tentatively scheduled for October 2006.

10/19/2005 - CCAG 2005 Rescheduled to December 4, 2005

We are happy to announce that our show is on for December 4th, 2005!  Same time.  Same place.  Same price, free!  :)

We are confirming with our vendors who will be able to attend and will be listing them ASAP.

Again, thank you all for your many emails containing words of encouragement, support, and understanding.  :)

9/25/2005 - CCAG 2005 Postponed until December 2005

As some of you may be aware, we are allowed the use of the National Guard Armory in Lorain, Ohio because one of our committee members is a member of the National Guard. This allows us to hold this event very inexpensively and free to vendors and attendees. In order for us to hold CCAG at the National Guard Armory in Lorain, he must attend the event.

Unfortunately, Hurricane Rita has activated the National Guard unit that he is in for the next 30 - 45 days. This means he is unavailable for the now previously scheduled event date of October 22, 2005. We intend to reschedule to December 2005, but we do not have a date yet. As soon as we have a date, we will announce it via our email mailing lists and on this website.

When we have a date, we will reconfirm with all of the dealers - 10 so far - to see how many can attend.

Again, we apologize for late change in plans but it simply can't be helped. It's just one of the non-monetary costs for a free show.

Thank you for your continued support of our show. We hope to see you this December and again - hopefully in April - of next year!

8/8/2005 - Just Before Press Release Update

The website has undergone quite a change.  Vendors are starting to line up.  We're on our way once again!

7/23/2005 - Pre-Press Release Update

It's official now.  We're on!  We'll be releasing more detailed information in the coming days.  Get on the CCAG mailing list by emailing us today!

Oh, and, the good news just keeps on coming.  We have another show in the works for Spring 2006 at the same place and price, FREE!

6/19/2005 - Pre-Pre-Press Release Update

Yes, it's very, very true.  There will be a CCAG 2005 in October, 2005 and we're returning to the spacious National Guard Armory in Lorain, Ohio.  We have been holding off announcing the actual date for a month because, well frankly, we don't know what the date is!  The schedule for the armory for that month has yet to be determined.  So...  Well, now you know just as much as we do.  More as soon as we know it.  (...it's a real chicken and egg thing...)

In the meantime check out the CCAG 2004 setup and show pictures.  They're up and running, finally!

Also, check out "Taking a Trip Down Memory-Chip Lane", an article about the current interest in classic computing from New Scientist Magazine.

10/23/2004 - Late, Late Night Update

The 2004 show has come and gone.  Our thanks go out to the over 125 attendees and 16 vendors that made our local gathering quite close quarters there for about 2 of our 6 hours!  :)  Due to your encouragement, suggestions for improvement, and *generous* donations, we look forward to doing it all again in bigger hall next fall!  We'll be updating the site soon with pictures and plans for next year.  But right now, we need some rest!  Thanks again and keep those suggestions coming in by emailing them to us now!  :)

The message board has been reset to concentrate this past year's show and next year's.

If you have pictures of this year's show and would like to share them, we'd love to show them!  Please email us today and we'll work out the details with you for posting them here.

10/22/2004

This is our last update of the website before the show.  The CCAG Committee offers many, many thanks to the vendors and attendees for their support of the show.

Once again, DO NOT SHOW UP EARLY!  Our event is after another event at the church.  If you show up early, you will be turned away.  Vendors need time to set up, so attendees, the "do not show up early" notice applies to you as well.  Thanks!  :)

The website has been getting a good number of hits over the past week.  Hopefully, we'll see you all there!  :)

10/17/2004

The show is officially less than one week away.  We have done a site inspection this past weekend and all looks to be in order. There are a total of 15 vendors who have said they are coming.  At this time, we have received confirmations from 9 of them.

At this time, all prime vendor space has been spoken for.  There is still room for a few more tables in the hallway between the main rooms and foyer of the church.  If you are still on the fence about being a vendor, the time to act is now.  RIGHT NOW!  We need to know that you are coming; there isn't much space left.

10/9/2004

     Three more confirmed vendors.

The maps to the event are on the web site.

Some CCAG organizers, vendors, and some attendees have been interviewed by Scene Magazine, a local alternative newspaper published in and distributed free across the greater Cleveland area.

CCAG is in the upcoming events in Game Informer magazine for October, 2004.

CCAG appears in an article about Nuon-DOME in Jagwired Magazine.

Nearly 1500 hits in 3 months!

9/8/2004

     Three more confirmed vendors.

     The message board is up.

     Thousands of hits!  :)

7/25/2004

We have two confirmed door prizes.  The drawings will be held at 9:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.  You must be present to attend.  If we get more, there will be more drawings!  :)

6/13/2004

The CCAG committee is proud to officially announce CCAG 2004 which will be held October 23, 2004 from 4:30 PM to 10:30 PM at the St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Mentor, Ohio.  The website will be updated every weekend with the most current information.

2/23/2004

The CCAG committee has narrowed the selection down to 4 different halls located in Kirtland, Mentor, and Chardon, OH. Now, we're looking at dates. We hope to make a firm decision sometime in March of 2004. The show will be in August, September, or October of 2004.

10/9/2003

We are choosing the hall and the date.  More in a couple of weeks!  :)

9/16/2003

Yep.  The rumors are true!  CCAG 2004 is on!  :)
The decision was made at the ACEC Swap Meet this past Saturday.  FMH Games and DigitalDinos will be working out the details in the next several weeks.  Word from the current sponsors is, "Think 'Swap Meet' not VCF or Vegas!"  Sounds about right for the area...  Lookin' like fun.  More details to follow!  :)

1/29/2003

Unfortunately, CCAG 2003 is another casualty of the "War on Terrorism."  Our fearless leader, Jim Krych has been called to active duty.  Logistically and financially, it is impossible to simply hand the reigns over to another individual in the time we have left.  We have no other alternative but to cancel this year's show and plan for next year, hopefully sometime in the second half of 2004.  There are other shows out there that classic computer and video game related.  Please support them with your patronage!
It is very unlikely that CCAG 2004 - as it is being referred to now - will be held in the same place as 2003.  Planning meetings for 2004 will resume sometime in the future.  If you want to help out, just click here and send us an email!
To Jim and all the men and women serving our country and allies, we pray for peace and their safe, swift return.

11/4/2002

Admission to CCAG is now free for attendees!  That's right!!  FREE!!!  However, vendor tables have increased from $6.00 each to $7.00 each.  Also, the cost and availability of door prize tickets are now in flux.  (We usually have to pay for the door prizes, don't cha' know!)  Right now they are set at $2.00 each.  That price may go up or down depending on the generosity of our vendors and what we can dig up.
If you want to help out with the show, we need you!  We have organizational meetings on the third Monday of every month from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm.  If you want to help out, just click here and send us an email!

08/12/2002

Lookie, lookie!  We've got 66 pics of CCAG 2002 posted and ready for viewing.  It's only been 3 months and we're waxing nostalgic over them.   (Sniff...)  If anyone has more pictures to share or knows of sites about our little event, please let us know!
A word of caution about the pages, though.  Each of the 7 picture pages will take up to 2 minutes to load at 28.8.  But, you'll get a kick out of them, to be sure!

07/27/2002

Well, the new host seems stable and this site has been updated to reflect 2003's events.  There is new vendor and Attendee information.  A complete list of the vendors at 2002's event are listed here.  We don't know what the door prizes will be this year; but you can plan on there being at least one.  (Maybe two or three!)  We do have pictures from 2002 and they will be appearing here "soon."

07/22/2002

Sorry about the interruption in service here at www.ccagshow.com.  Since June 4th, this site has been going up and down through no fault of our own with the death knell coming June 24th.  Our previous hosting company, Win2000Hoster, has reneged on their 99.9% uptime.  :(  We would have been up sooner, but they have also reneged on their money back guarantee.  >:(  Unfortunately, they are in Egypt; we can do nothing but stamp our feet, complain, and warn others...  Beware!  Beware!!  They lie and suck!!!
Ok...  All out of our system...  Water under the bridge...
It took us a few weeks to scrape up some extra cash, but here we are back and up 'n running!  (Our thanks to DigitalDinos for letting us "piggy back" to their hosting service on the very cheap so long as we promised we would not take up hardly any space.)  Email to info@ccagshow.com should be up and running by the time you read this.  If email bounces back to you, give it a day or two and try again.
About next year, "Yes!  We are on!!"  Same Bat-Time!  Same Bat-Place!  Same Saturday before Memorial Day, May 24th, 2003!  The first organizational meeting has occurred.  If you wish to get involved - and yes, we need you - please send an email to info@ccagshow.com and let us know you are interested in helping out.
We do have pictures from the past event!  And now that we have our site back, we will be posting them and updating this site with more information on the 2003 event as soon as we can make the time.  (If you have pictures and stories to share, please let the webmaster know.)

05/25/2002

CCAG 2002 has come and gone.  A huge "Thank You" to all our exhibitors, vendors and especially our attendees. We will be posting a review and pictures from the event in the next week or so.  (We need some time to recover...)  We will also be posting information on CCAG 2003, already scheduled for May 24th, 2003.  Mark those calendars, now!
Again, thanks to everyone who turned out for CCAG 2002.  It couldn't happen without YOU!  :)

05/23/2002

We have the NeXTStation for our second door prize!  It will be given away at high noon.  You must be present to win.  You must cart the system off the premises before the end of the show, 2:00 pm.

05/21/2002

Our last planning meeting before the show has been held.  All the organizers of this years show are very pleased with incredible show of vendor and attendee support that has been expressed.  We are looking forward to a great get together this Saturday.  And an even greater one in 2003!  (Yes, there will be a 2003 show!)
It has been decided that you will be able to purchase additional raffle tickets for the door prize (or door prizes) that CCAG will have.  Additional tickets will only be $2 each.  (Such a deal!)  Again, you must be present to win door prizes.  The schedule of door prize drawings will be posted at the entrance of the show.  All door prizes will be given away.  All door prizes must be carted away by the winner.  No storage facilities will be available at the show!
So, what to do after CCAG?  Go to other classic computer and gaming shows, of course!  Classic Gaming Expo 2K2, August 10 and 11 in Las Vegas.  And a, "Big Hello" to the show right before ours, PhillyClassic 4 is on the way in April 2003!  From what two of our own organizers said when they went, it's a show that's just this side of classic gaming heaven!  May we may never grow to be that big; but, we hope to be that grand, soon.  ;)  Traveling to England over the summer?  Check out Game On from May 16 - September 15, 2002.  Game On is the first major UK exhibition to explore the vibrant history and culture of video games. Focusing on key developments between 1962 and 2002, it's an in-depth look at gaming's fascinating past and limitless future.

05/20/2002

Our door prize given away at 1 p.m. is a working KLAX standup arcade game.  You must be present to win!  You must be able to cart it away to win, too!  :)
Our show got a mention in the May 20th edition of the Plain Dealer on the second page of the Personal Finance section.  References to our show is also finally showing up on the search engines Google and AllTheWeb.  (Though Google still doesn't reference this site directly.)

05/12/2002

There is an excellent chance that we will have another door prize, a NeXTStation with 17-inch monochrome monitor!!  As with the other door prize, the stand-up video game, you need to be present to win.  More specifics and the drawing time will be announced once the prize is in our hands.
We welcome Chuck Amicone, Brag Productions, and Jeffery Armstrong to this year's show.  Yes, Jeffery will be bringing his DEC Rainbow display!

04/29/2002

We welcome 16 / 32 Systems and C's Vintage Games to returning to CCAG for 2002.  16 / 32 Systems will be bringing the best in Atari Jaguar and Lynx games from across the Atlantic to the show.  (Visit their site and send them an email as to what to bring for YOU!)  C's Vintage Games will once again be featuring classic systems and games from Atari, Intellivision, Coleco, Sega, and Nintendo.

03/19/2002

The arcade game Galaga will make an appearance at CCAG 2002 for all to play for free!

03/10/2002

The TI Chips user group for Texas Instruments computers (TI-99/4A, TI-99, Geneve, and so on) will be attending this year's show.  How about you?  Let us know; click here and send us an email!

Treyonics will be displaying their Devastator MAME game control.
DigitalDinos will set up a display of Apple II computers:  II+, IIe, IIc, IIc+, and IIgs.  If you have an Apple II and need an operating system disk, they will copy one off for you for ProDOS or DOS 3.3 for free.  (Beats a trip to the Apple website, downloading it, and then trying to figure out how the heck to get it to your Apple II.)
Michael and Dottie Walton say they, "will probably be bringing the full line of Nintendo consoles (NES, SNES, N64, and GameCube) and we'll have them set up for free play."

The word has officially gone out to vendors, attendees, user groups, and on and on.  CCAG 2002 is on the way.  A few vendors have already sent in payments!  :)
The website has been updated in several places:  information on Cleveland, Ohio; hotels and motels close to the Garfield Heights, FAQ, and pictures and reviews of CCAG 2000 and 2001 found on the web.  Enjoy!  :)
Oh, and the webmaster got his own email account.  Even so, questions about the show must be directed to info@ccagshow.com.  Thanks!

We have activated the new web site and new email addresses.  We've reserved the hall.  We've contacted the vendors.  We're ready to go, aren't you?
This site will be continually updated as events warrant.  If you have said your attending as a vendor or an attendee, you will receive news bulletins as they warrant that might also direct you to this site.  (Yet another reason to tell us you're on your way!)

We may have found a location. It is large enough, with sufficient wattage and while the price is quite a bit more than last year, is still within budget. But since there will be a significant cost to rent this year's facility, we will have to defray the cost:

  1. There will be a table fee this year. We are currently looking at $5.00 a table, a very reasonable fee.
  2. There will most likely be a admission fee. Once again, it will be very small. We are looking at around $2.00, with the money going towards some great door prizes!

CCAG will have it's own official website soon. It will be moving from the friendly confines of the Tomorrow's Heroes site and out on its own. I will give you the exact address when the site is ready.

Right now the show is in hiatus. The armory that we had the show at for the past two years is not available to us this year (there is a small chance it will be, but a very small). Due to the events of the past year, they have closed off the armory to all non-military use. We are in the process of looking for another site, but so far our efforts have been fruitless. Either the places are too expensive or too small or not available. We will continue to look for a new location for this year, but things are not looking good.
If we do not find a suitable location by March, 2002, then we will cancel the show and try for next year. It would be a shame as the show really took off last year and with help, it could really have been a great show!

The show is done and was a success! Tom Zjaba posted a wrap-up, view it by clicking here, with four pages of pictures! If you see your picture and I do not have your name, please email me and I will add it. Mind still a bit fuzzy.06/26/2001.
Added a new page with a list of events happening in the Cleveland area on the weekend of the 2001 CCAG! With the Cleveland Grand Prix, Cleveland Indians baseball and the National Sports Show, there is a ton of stuff to do after the show!  (This page is no longer available since it is way out of date! :)

The 2001 show was featured in the Plain Dealer, the biggest newspaper in Northern Ohio! Just one of many places we are promoting the show. It was in the Monday, June 18th paper.
